How To Communicate Better With Your Clients So They Get The Results They Want

As holistic practitioners or spiritual service workers, one of the key challenges that you may face is getting your clients to do the work in order to achieve the results they want.
Clients face a lot of resistance and often will give excuses for not doing what they should. Well, they are after all the clients, and this is why they are not the practitioners of your trade. And you are in the position to assist them.
What can you do more effectively to get them to do what they have paid you to help them with?
Communication is the bloodline of all relationships this includes your relationship with your clients. So the key lies in communication and this means it is important to have a system of communication set up that will empower your clients and will allow them to see the benefits of following the system.
In my own practice with my clients, I have communication forms that my clients have to fill out before and after each session.This way we are clear on what has been communicated during our session, as well as what we will cover in the next session.
This method makes them accountable for their actions, and inactions.
Some clients at the beginning think it is too troublesome, but I tell them that it is even more troublesome not to be able to achieve their goals effectively.And through practice, most have found the system an easy and enjoyable process for them to track their progress.
I have found that those who follow the system inevitably achieve better results than those who do not.Those who do not, normally have issues with following through with their homework and so it is not surprising they do not get the results they want.
In my coaching sessions with my clients, I often look at the communication forms as a point of reference, to know where they are, and the kinds of challenges they are facing. This way, we can address them and clear the blocks so that we as a team can work towards the results they have in mind.
If you do give a money back guarantee for your services and in the event that your clients do not get the results you have promised, you have a record of the things they have done and not done, which clearly shows whether they have followed the recommended steps you have asked them to do. Your clients cannot ask for their money back if they clearly did not follow the processes you recommended. And be sure to also have that clause in print in your contract with them.
If you are not in the coaching, healing or counselling business, but do provide some other types of services to help your clients to achieve a goal of some sort, you can also create a communication system that works for you. With social media and other easy communication platforms available these days, it is really no excuse not to have better communication with your clients and prospects to get your ideas across.
Of course, there is also the ‘danger’ of over communication. A clear boundary must be drawn so that you are not coddling your client or sharing too much information that may prove to have a negative impact rather than an empowering one. You are the best judge for this for your trade and service and trying out and finding the balance for yourself is the best way to go.
Communicate away but keep it simple, keep it clear.
